Our department is a leading center for mediastinal tumor-related surgeries in China, and we have successfully performed the first-ever transcervical thymectomy using a mediastinoscope for thymus resection in the country. In addition to our efforts in minimally invasive treatments for mediastinal diseases, we actively engage in innovative procedure enhancements for managing extensive mediastinal tumors. Our department has also initiated research into genomics testing for thymic tumors, established primary cell lines for thymic tumors, and conducted single-cell sequencing for fundamental studies. These efforts are propelling the field of mediastinal tumor treatment into the era of personalized medicine. Furthermore, our department continually pursues innovation and has received support for developing and designing various patented techniques for thoracic wall defect repairs. These include modular thoracic wall reconstruction systems and 3D printing repair technologies.
